Shanice and Lauren’s story began on the campus of Xavier University of Louisiana. Lauren had noticed Shanice everywhere, but Shanice had no idea who she was. Determined to change that, Lauren used Curious Cat, an anonymous question platform, to “shoot her shot” and ask Shanice to be friends. With playful hints and subtle confessions, Lauren piqued Shanice’s curiosity, drawing her in. What started as innocent messages soon blossomed into late-night conversations, laughter, and an undeniable connection. That summer, ready to turn their growing bond into something real, Shanice invited Lauren to visit her in Memphis—where their love story truly began.

When Lauren visited Memphis, Shanice took her to local gems, including a bar called Huey’s. There, they scrawled their names on the wall—a small act to mark a moment neither wanted to forget. They had only known each other for a few months, but it already felt like the beginning of something lasting.

Over the years, their bond deepened, and in 2021, they officially became exclusive, marking the next chapter of their love story.

Together, they celebrated milestones, embraced successes, and stood by each other through life’s most vulnerable moments. As they built thriving careers in healthcare and Research & Development, their journey was always grounded in love, unwavering support, and the strength of the families who stood behind them.

Lauren joined the Wilsons for their annual family vacation, where her bond with Shanice’s family grew stronger each year. She gained another mother figure, nieces, nephews, two more brothers, a big sister, two grandparents, and a special connection with Shanice’s dad and Step-mom. Through laughter, shared stories, and mutual support, Lauren has truly become a cherished part of the family. Each vacation deepens their connection, making every moment together even more meaningful.

After three years of love and adventure, Shanice and Lauren embarked on their first solo holiday trip to a cozy cabin in Gatlinburg, TN. But what Lauren didn’t know was that this getaway held something even more special—during a DIY escape room, Shanice was about to ask the most important question of all.

Shanice has been embraced by Lauren’s family with open arms, welcomed into their hearts and home from the very first moment. They’ve shown her nothing but warmth, love, and support, making her feel like she’s been a part of their family all along. Each gathering, each celebration, has only strengthened the bond between Shanice and Lauren's loved ones, creating a sense of belonging and shared joy.
